Han Widjaja Chen, CCIM

Han Widjaja Chen is the founder and president of Growth Investment Group, a commercial real estate investment brokerage company that specializes in multifamily investments in Los Angeles with a focus in the San Gabriel Valley area. He led a successful team of specalized commercial real estate agents that have helped many GIG clients multiply their wealth through apartment sales. As of Q4-2022, GIG's team has sold over $1.803billion of closed transactions. Many active real estate agents/brokers have hired Han’s team to help them sell their apartment properties.

Han’s humble commercial real estate career begins in 2007 with Colliers International. He quickly became the top multifamily agents at Colliers International Los Angeles. After 4-years tenure with Colliers International, Han became one of the principals/ shareholders in 2012 at Lee Associates ISG where he also became #1 multifamily agent at the company. After seeing his clients’ needs for a more responsive and personalized approach to multifamily investments, Han decided to found Growth Investment Group in 2014 in a strategic alliance with KW Commercial in Pasadena. During his partnership with KW Commercial Pasadena, Han once again became #1 multifamily broker in the company.

In order to provide his clients a more entrepreneurial engagement, Han decided to operate GIG as its own company independent from any national franchises affiliation. Since its full inception, GIG has multiplied its client’s net worth through multifamily investments and quickly becoming the top multifamily boutique firm in San Gabriel Valley.

Even though he started his commercial real estate career only about 15 years ago, Han was able to build his own multifamily/commercial real estate portfolio in San Gabriel Valley and now offers his clients unique and professional insights of the apartment market, operations, and management as a fellow commercial real estate investor. His approach of partnering with his clients to maximize their property value to achieve their goals has earned him trusts and continued businesses from his many clients.

Abel Benitez was born and raised in San Gabriel, California and graduated from Temple City Hight School. Soon after, he worked up through the hospitality industry and achieved key management roles at a young age. By taking an entrepeneurial routee, Abel discovered a passion for Real Estate and joined Growth Investment Group as a Business Development Associate.

Within a year he learned about the key principles of Commercial Real Estate and now specializes in Multi-Family Sales across Southern Los Angeles in neighborhoods such as Vermont Square, University Park, Florence Graham & many more nearby markets.

Evan T. Monroe was born and raised in Pasadena, CA. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California, where he first developed an interest in the world of commercial real estate.

During his time at USC, Evan studied topics ranging from Macroeconomics and Consumer Behavior to Behavioral Genetics and Cognitive Neuroscience. As an Associate with Growth Investment Group (San Gabriel, CA), Evan utilizes his detailed market knowledge, strong interpersonal communication skills, and familiarity with the East Los Angeles, Highland Park, and Eagle Rock communities to provide excellent advisory services to multi-family investors in the area. Berlin Mason was raised in the Inland Empire and currently resides in Los Angeles. She earned her Bachelor’s in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara, and her Associate’s in Economics and Business Administration from Chaffey College.

After working in the restaurant industry throughout high school and college, Berlin launched her career in real estate by working for a top-producing agent in Pasadena where she was able to observe and gain invaluable experience in understanding local markets, negotiation tactics, and pricing analysis.

Carolyn Echter

As a Multifamily Investment Specialist, Carolyn’s primary focus is on apartment buildings in Los Angeles, particularly the San Fernando Valley. With over a decade of sales management experience, she transitioned to investment real estate and has dedicated her career to providing clients with her extensive product and market knowledge to help them achieve their investment goals.

Carolyn started working young for her family’s SoCal commercial flower farm, which instilled a fierce work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. After graduating from UCSD, she promptly moved to Los Angeles to share her unique business development insights. Carolyn continues to maximize value for her clients through integrity, transparency and putting their needs first.

She and the team at GIG meticulously develop a comprehensive strategy for clients to achieve their investment goals. This includes underwriting and determining property value, preparing detailed marketing packages, qualifying buyers, coordinating inspections, and expertly guiding clients through a smooth and successful escrow.

William Avila

William Avila was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate from Cal State Los Angeles. He quickly put his education to use as a successful business owner and top State Vendor in Property Preservation for over 10 years.

He has since demonstrated a history of working in the Real Estate Industry and sharpened his skills in acquisitions, investment and management. As an Associate with Growth Investment Group William prides himself on representing Sellers/Buyers in Commercial transaction in the El Monte, South El Monte, La Puente, Covina and West Covina communities.
